WORKING TOGETHER TO BUILD FREE - SAFE - LEGAL PLACE FOR SKATERS IN ARLINGTON, TEXAS AND SURROUDING AREAS

Cody Rocamontes 1994-2009Cody Rocamontes Incorporated
A Texas Non-Profit Corporation is an official 501(c)(3)

The purpose of this site is to promote and raise the awareness of the need for a Safe and Legal Skate Park in Arlington, TX .  So many surrounding city’s have skateparks, this eliminates street riding, unnecessary court time for kids getting tickets in “no skate zones” and most of all a safe place for kids to skate.

Our organization formed in August 2009 after the tragic death of Cody David Rocamontes who lost his life on his way to go skate his favorite spot behind Big Lots.  He was hit by a car on the I20 service road.  We continue to honor his memory by doing all that we can to educate the community on safe and legal skate practices while continuing to move forward to build a skatepark in Arlington, Texas. Click here to Download Information flyer.

Without the support of the community, volunteers and numerous fund raisers this will not be possible.  We invite you to join our cause and do what you can.  Whether it is to join us at the city council meetings, pass out flyer's, donate a skill, give a free space to set up temporary skate ramps, act as a consultant or donate money to help make this dream a reality, we invite you to help in any way possible.

In December we received a Google Grant - changes coming soon.

RocaSkateFest II - March 12, 2011 - Save the date.  We hope to raise enough to break ground on the Donation park.  4 locations have been out for option, we will have pdf map to download for all the locations of our donation park and the city of Arlington's Skate Park Master Plan.  We continue to support the city of Arlington in efforts to break ground on the City Skate park.  CRI / arlingtonskate: we hope to move forward on donation park to honor Cody David Rocamontes.

FAQ: Your donation, cash or goods in kind, are 100% tax deductible.  No one in our charity takes a salary, we are a volunteer only group right now and most volunteers work a full time job.  We take volunteers of all ages and you can log your volunteer hours for community  service and school.

Skatepark System Master Plan

As a first step, a master plan is needed to define both feasible short-term and desirable long-term locations for skate facilities. The City of Arlington is requesting qualification proposals from professional consulting firms qualified to develop a skate system master plan. The master plan will guide the planning and development of a comprehensive network of skate facilities that will integrate with the City’s park system and provide opportunities for a wide variety of recreational activities. The consultant will assist with the analysis of existing sites for future skate facility inclusion, identification of skatepark types, development of siting criteria unique to Arlington's urban environment, and specify where and how many public skateparks would best serve Arlington.
